1/3/2024 0 Comments I am fish piranha level 3![]() It's cute for the entire playthrough, and definitely presents a distinct challenge even if half the battle is simply getting the character to go where you want them. Still, the narrative that is woven into the game is pretty nice, as they really didn't have to do it. While I definitely enjoy the animation and the fun puzzle-ness of the game's routes that it presents you with, the first hurdle during every level is simply controlling the fish in whatever environment you're in (I could go my entire life without seeing another fish in a jar of water). While I Am Fish is a fun and cute game, it is also, at times, infuriatingly hard to control and play. It's not horrible, but I wouldn't really recommend it either, so a solid meh. I had to mute the game because hearing the same 3 note melody for the 100th time was perhaps even more frustrating than not being able to get the proper jump height. The music suffers from something similar where it's basically only 4-8 bars that repeat infinitely with perhaps some instrumentals coming and going. But also during the hospital level where the guy kept saying the same 3 lines over and over. The dialog snippets were really repetitive, which really annoyed me as I was failing the same jump over and over. Yes it handles like a dumptruck on ice, but you know it's going to so you have to start adjusting your direction really early. Perhaps it's not possible, but it felt awful to basically get no jump if you just grazed the control stick.Īnyway, it looks quite nice and some of the sections are challenging in a fun way, such as the sphere-shaped fishbowl. I either got a low and long jump or a high jump that didn't go forward, but never something in between. ![]() This game lacks that, even after finishing it, I couldn't really force a good jump from water with the flying fish. ![]() Cheers! Navigating in each make-shift aquatic vehicle poses its own unique challenge, but don’t worry, the relative freedom of open water is never too far away with inviting fountains, swimming pools and err, sewers full of hazardous materials to splash around in, before reaching the final goal – the shimmering, open ocean. One of those games with purposefully frustrating controls, which I don't necessarily mind as long as they're predictable, like "Getting over It" for instance. Our four fin-tastic friends will be hitching rides in all manner of ad hoc water carriers including jars, mop buckets on wheels, and the occasional pint glass. We won’t dwell on grizzly fish death, but should your I am fish fall too far in whatever make-shift fishbowl it finds itself in, run out of air or generally flounder you will be popped back to the most recent checkpoint to refine your approach. With its idyllic coastline and quaint villages Barnardshire might seem like a perfect slice of quintessential tranquility, but to our aquatic adventurers it’s alive with the very real threats presented by crossing roads, traversing rooftops, dodging deep fat fryers, avoiding wildlife including the cantankerous locals, not to mention fragile fishbowls and the very real problem that fish can’t breathe out of water. A simple, intuitive control scheme leaves no excuses should your fish perish leaving you feeling very gill-ty. In i am fish Swim, roll, glide, chomp, flip flop, inflate, fly and bite your way through enthralling challenges. Flying Fish – a little aloof at times but a real softy at heart, with the ability to glide through the air! These plucky heroes will leave no bowl unturned, putting their heart and shoal into the mission to re-unite! Piranha - wild, chaotic, loud, unpredictable, and loves to bite - obviously. ![]() I Am Fish Meet our heroes! Goldfish - cheerful, brave, and adventurous, a natural born swimmer! Pufferfish – a little slow but kind-hearted who can also puff up into a ball and roll across land. Over the course of the game you join them as they swim, fly, roll and chomp their way to the open ocean from the far-flung corners of Barnardshire (the smallest county in England) in their bid for freedom and to re-unite once again. I Am Fish is a charming, physics-based adventure starring four intrepid fish friends, forcibly separated from their home in a pet shop fish tank.
